Talk

Turning the most talkative intern into a trusted colleague

And then came ChatGPT... Suddenly, legal professionals gained a new colleague: one who never drinks coffee, talks constantly, sometimes appears brilliant, but also peddles complete nonsense as if it were gospel truth. For us as designers, this meant an entirely new playing field: how do you ensure AI doesn't become a disruptor, but rather a sparring partner that genuinely helps professionals?

In collaboration with our users—legal experts such as lawyers and legal counsels—we explore how AI can contribute to complex tasks without drowning out the professional's expertise. The secret: understanding what these people actually do and why. Only then can you build agentic workflows that complement rather than clash.

Our approach? More MacGyver than Silicon Valley: hackathons, off-script experiments, prototypes that sometimes consist of nothing more than a Word document, and always thinking in possibilities rather than limitations.

We'll take you through the successes, blunders, and lessons of designing human-AI collaboration. Don't expect a ready-made recipe, but practical insights and an honest story about transforming the most talkative colleague ever into a trusted partner.
